Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers:

Chelsea Clinton has announced that she is pregnant with her first child. That baby’s expected to crawl after nine months and run in 2055.

Last week NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that he wants to raise the league’s age minimum from nineteen to twenty; while the league’s age maximum will continue to be Keven Garnett.

Former MTV reality star Tila Tequila announced via selfie that she’s ten weeks pregnant – which is the earliest anyone’s life has been ruined by tequila.

An alcohol expert for the World Health Organization is claiming that drinking only becomes harmful when people consume more than a bottle of wine a day. Here’s the good news: they didn’t say anything about how many boxes you can drink.

The comedy segment bits were “Seth’s Story: Frisbee Takes a Dip in the Ocean” and “Venn Diagrams.” I really enjoy it when Seth shares tales from his personal life. He’s a very entertaining storyteller. “Venn Diagrams” was just barely decent enough to recommend. If you’re short on time you won’t miss anything by skipping it.

John McCain was the first couch guest. He is a United States Senator from Arizona. The interview was fine. John was friendly, sincere and outspoken. In the first half of the interview John tried multiple times to be funny. It didn’t work for me, but I respect his efforts. The second half of the interview was better, as Seth and John talked seriously about real issues:

Billy Eichner was the second couch guest. He is the host of the show Billy on the Street. The interview was terrific. Billy was hilarious, charismatic and told interesting stories. I loved every moment of this interview. I don’t want to talk about it anymore; I just want you to watch it:

Jason Derulo was the musical guest. He gave a nice performance that proved “less is more” regarding hip hop acts in late-night television.

Very good show. I give it:
