Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights
Jimmy Kimmel Live! is at The Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, Texas this week during SXSW. They’re taking advantage of their time there by doing five shows instead of their normal four.
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s episode:
We are here for the South By Southwest festival, which is three festivals really. It’s music, technology and film, all back-to-back. It’s the world’s largest gathering of people wearing lanyards.
I love Austin. The people are friendly, the food is delicious, the cowboys here don’t wear Uggs like they do back in L.A.
Guillermo and I have been eating non-stop since we landed. I’m on the Noah’s Arc diet this week: I’m eating two of every animal I see.

The comedy segment bit was an “exclusive” clip of the second season of True Detective. I don’t have HBO and haven’t seen the show, but still found this funny enough to recommend:

Seth Rogen was the first couch guest. He stars in the upcoming film Neighbors. The interview was good. Seth was friendly, high and told some amusing stories. He also had plenty of lewd and crass moments. I can understand why some people don’t enjoy his sense of humor, but I like it. He’s charismatic and makes me laugh. Kimmel, who by now is used to guests being under some kind of influence while on his show, rolled with it quite well. Here’s the interview:

Snoop Dogg was the second couch guest. He is, among other things, a musician. The interview was fine. Snoop was nice, relaxed and told an interesting story or two. I’m not a big admirer of his music or lifestyle, but I do admire his unabashed view of the world and how he lives his life. Is the interview worth watching? If you’re a fan or simply just curious, then yes. If not, then you can save seven minutes and skip it.

White Denim was the musical guest. They were ok.
Entertaining show with bonus points awarded for being in Austin. I give it:
