Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights
Congratulations to Jimmy Kimmel for receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame tomorrow. That’s pretty awesome.
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!:
Justin Bieber just surpassed Lady Gaga as the most followed person on Twitter. Justin now has 33,410,000 followers, that’s 28,000 more than Lady Gaga. By the way, if you want to confuse your grandfather, wake him up right now and scream, “Bieber beat Gaga on Twitter!” He’ll think you’re possessed.
You know, Justin Bieber reminds me a lot of myself at that age. Except, instead of 33 million followers it was two followers, instead of Twitter it was employees of a comic book store following me to make sure I didn’t steal anything.
Around two-thirds of the country is suffering from freezing cold temperatures right now. Scientists say it’s due to a strange phenomenon called “January.” In Minnesota it’s negative forty tonight. I have a pretty simple rule about this sort of thing: If it gets down to negative forty I move.
Now that Kimmel is on at 11:30 he’s started doing comedy segments just like a normal late-night talk show. Tonight’s centered on Manti Te’o. Most of it was forgettable, but I did like this bit:
Naomi Watts was the first couch guest. She is in the film The Impossible. The interview was very good. Naomi was friendly, open, had a great sense of humor and told some amusing stories. Kimmel deserves some credit here as well. He did a nice job maintaining a comfortably high level of humor throughout the segment. Here’s the interview:
Allison Williams was the second couch guest. She is one of the show Girls. The interview was great, but way too short. Allison was a ton of fun, and a real joy to watch. I even enjoyed the comedy segment, although it took away from learning more about the guest. Here’s the interview:
Gin Wigmore was the musical guest. She was fine.
Entertaining show. I give it:
