Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

Lindsay Lohan was in the news this weekend. She tweeted President Obama on the topic of tax cuts. The President tweeted, “I’ve cut taxes for the people who need it – middle-class families, small business owners.” And so Lindsay tweeted back, “We also need to cut them for those that are listed on Forbes as ‘millionaires’ if they are not, you must consider that as well.” And she would have tweeted more, but she hit the car in front of her and had to put the phone down.

I think that’s very brave. Thank you Lindsay. Finally, someone is standing up for those who have been falsely accused of being millionaires in Forbes magazine. She really should be focusing on what the President plans to do about cutting car insurance deductibles.

In Chicago today, after contract negotiations broke down expectantly, 26,000 public school teachers walked off the job and went on strike. This is the first teacher strike Chicago’s had in twenty-five years. Almost every kid in Chicago gets to skip school. It’s like there are 400,000 Ferris Buellers loose on the streets and we don’t have enough parades for them to dance in.

Lea Michele was the first couch guest. She is one of the stars of the television show Glee. Overall the interview was pretty good. Lea was pleasant, energetic and talked a lot. She had some relatively interesting stories too. She balanced Jimmy’s mellow attitude well. Here’s the interview:

Adam DeVine the second couch guest. He’s on the show Workaholics and in the upcoming film Pitch Perfect. The interview was Great. Adam was fun and entertaining. He totally reminds me of a young Jack Black. Here’s the interview:

The Avett Brothers was the musical guest. They gave a fine performance.

Enjoyable show. I give it:
