Late Show Highlights
Since the Ed Sullivan Theater, home to the Late Show with David Letterman, was broken into on Sunday, I have a feeling it’s going to be a big topic in last night’s show. Let’s see if I’m right. Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s show:
Over the weekend, like yesterday, a guy breaks into the Ed Sullivan Theater, right here. A guy breaks in. I’m told now that Jay has an alibi.
But the kid who busted in, turns out to be he was drunk, and also an out of work actor. Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, come on! Get a hold of yourself!
It’s so hot in New York City, the hookers in Times Square are doing their part. For an extra 50 bucks you can by an oscillating hooker.
The desk segment was the time line of the crime and the Top Ten Excuses of the Guy Who Broke Into the Ed Sullivan Theater. It was pretty funny:
Emma Watson was the first couch guest. She is in the upcoming Harry Potter film. I’ve seen Emma on the Late Show twice before and they were great interviews. This one wasn’t quite as good, but it was still really enjoyable, due mostly to the fact that Emma is just an absolutely terrific person. Check out the clips below, especially the second one. Letterman really puts her on the spot and she recovers decently, and hilariously, well:
George Lopez was the second couch guest. He is the host of his own late-night talk show, Lopez Tonight. The interview was fine. It was nice to see Lopez outside of his show, which meant he had to tone it down a few notches. Here’s the second-half of the interview:
Incubus was the musical guest. They were great.
Very enjoyable show. I give it:
