Tonight Show Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno:
Anybody out there looking for a job? There’s an opening for a flight attendant at Jet Blue. Well today they finally learned what set him off; The in-flight movie was Marmaduke.
The world-champion New Orleans Saints visited the White House earlier this week. They presented President Obama with a Saints jersey with the number “44” on it, in honor of his approval rating.
A team of British engineers have developed a car that runs on human waste. I bet that new car smell doesn’t last too long.
With hundreds of teachers facing layoffs, you know what the Wisconsin teachers union is now fighting for? Taxpayer funded Viagra. They want free Viagra for teachers. Call me old fashion, but I liked it better when they used the traditional wooden pointer.
The desk segment was a report on the Sturgis Biker Rally by Pee-wee Herman. I can’t decide if this was entertaining or not. I’ll let you be the judge:
Jason Statham was the first couch guest. He is one of the stars of the new film The Expendables. I’m a big fan of the old Statham films. I loved him in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. He’s done a lot since that I’m not as crazy about, but he’s still a terrific when he’s kicking butt. The interview was ok, but I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t more entertaining. To me the chemistry just didn’t seem to be there.
Rachel Veitch was the second couch guest. She’s a ninety-two year-old grandmother who has owned the same Mercury Comet for 40-years, and has driven it over 560,000 miles. The interview was a lot of fun to watch. She’s pretty darn tough:
Los Lobos as the musical guest. They’re still making beautiful music.
Good show. I give it:
