Late Show Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with David Letterman:
It was so hot down in Washington, D.C. today that President Obama was fanning himself with his birth certificate.
You know, it’s not the G-20 anymore. It’s now the G-19 because Ghana eliminated the United States.
How bout that World Cup, huh? The United States has been eliminated, and now Americans need another excuse to go to bars at seven A.M.
The desk segments included the Top Ten Thoughts That Went Through John Isner’s Mind During The 11-Hour Tennis Match. It was presented by Isner himself, which was pretty cool:
Kristen Stewart was the first couch guest. She is one of the stars of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Wow, did she and Letterman have an interesting interview. I couldn’t tell which one antagonized the other one more. I think Dave started it, however. Overall I’d say it wasn’t a good segment for either of them. If you want to watch it there plenty of Twilight fans who posted it on YouTube.
Gary Faulkner was the second couch guest. This is the guy who recently was caught trying to hunt down Bin Laden in Pakistan. Gary is nothing if not an interesting guy. The interview is worth watching:
Tokyo Police Club was the musical guest. They did some rockin’.
Good show. I give it:
