If Not John Then Perhaps Tony
I love this strip. I love all of our strips. But I really love this strip.
Paul doesn’t typically like to talk about the personal stuff that’s going on in his life. He doesn’t like me to talk about it either, but sometimes it’s necessary. To put it mildly, it’s been a rough couple of weeks for Paul. First, the Ducks lost the BCS National Championship Game. Then, yesterday, the Seahawks lost to the Bears in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. It’s a one-two punch that is going to require some time to heal.
In his current state of screwed-up-ness Paul is now rooting for the Packers. I tried to suggest to him that he might benefit from some counseling. He replied that I could have sexual relations with the entire Bears franchise for all he cared. I’m cutting him some slack, since he is obviously not well. I’m also taking the high road on this, for now. I am hoping, and it’s a mighty hope, that he comes to his senses soon, like today.
If you have a minute, please let Paul know that you wish him a speedy recovery too.
Go Bears!

I agree with Paul regarding the Bears. Never liked the Bears anyway, and Seahawks are my #2 team. When the Colts lost to the Jets, I took the high road and started supporting the Jets… mainly because I’m so sick of the Patriots. And I was greatly rewarded.
It will also be rewarding to see the Packers smear the Bears across Soldier Field.
Sigh.
With Bret favr favr away

Nice!
Come to the light Paul, the beautiful green and gold light. Enough said.
Is there a tune this song is supposed to be sung to?
Not really. I loosely loosely modeled it after Les Miserables’ “I Dreamed a Dream”.
Sorry to Paul for the devastating weekend. I too was upset about the BCS (I dislike Auburn intensely). Cheer up about the Seahawks, they weren’t even expected to make it past the Saints, but they did that. You could be a Giants fan like me.
This strip….I adore it. I was a music ed major in college and I love broadway shows. I started reading this strip when Paul did a strip for Howie Noel’s Tara Normal which I follow religiously. You have added another few stops on the net for me! Thanks so much! The idea is brilliant with the guests and the humor. Totally awesome!
Thank you for that great feedback Ingrid. Welcome aboard.
Nice touch that she’s singing in alternately rhymed quatrains, but in the last, incomplete one, the final words are the infamously unrhymeable “orange” and “silver”.
I was also bummed the Ducks lost to Auburn that year…and to Ohio St. this year.
