A Tentacular Awareness
I came very close to titling today’s comic “They’re Real, and They’re Tentacular.” With the help of the interwebz I ended up finding the title from page 66 of Ian McEwan’s novel Atonement:
…had distilled from this sensitivity a sixth sense, a tentacular awareness that reached out from the dimness and moved through the house unseen and all knowing.
But enough about my problems. I know why you’re really reading this blog post. Here’s the third and final installment of my interview with the man who never met a Michigan sports team that didn’t let him down, Tales of a Checkered Man’s Denver Brubaker:
WAH: What area of your webcomic do you think needs to be improved upon?
DB: From the creation standpoint I need to just be a better writer. As far as the site itself I have heard that it’s a little slow, so Brandon (my webmaster and brother) and I need to look into that. But writing has always been my biggest weakness but I’m learning! If only I could get Paul Dini to help me out…hmmm…
WAH: What are you doing when you’re not working on your webcomic?
DB: I’ve been fortunate to start getting commission work and I’ve been working doing sketch cards for a few Marvel trading card sets and that’s super fun. Away from drawing I love going to the movies or the theater, or just watching television with my fiancée. I dig following the Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions as well. I also love the simple things like taking walks with my dog Roxy, cooking, hanging out with my family, and relaxing with a nice cold beer!

When Dr. Evil got it in the tentacles
Thanks for the snippet. Because of it, “Atonement” is now on my to-read list.
