Late Late Show Highlights
There are only three weeks left of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I’ll be honoring this milestone by reviewing an episode each week until the end.
The cold open wasn’t the funniest thing ever, but how often do you get to see warm-up comedian Bob Oschack on camera? I honestly don’t know, which is why I’m asking. I’m gonna assume the number is pretty low, so we might as well take advantage of the situation:
Here were my favorite monologue jokes:
Did you see the new Star Wars trailer? Star Wars fans are going kakahoop; some of them may be even C3PP’ing in their pants.
It was a terrifying weekend in Los Angeles; yesterday it rained. What I’m saying is: it was wet here in LA. It was so wet, Bill Cosby roofied a mermaid…allegedly.
The CEO of Netflix says network TV will be dead in fifteen years’ time. Fine with me; I only need it to last a couple more weeks.
The comedy segment bit was “Tweetmail”. It had some pretty entertaining moments:
Lisa Kudrow was the first couch guest. She stars on two shows: The Comeback and Web Therapy. The interview was fine. Lisa was cordial, mellow and shared some amusing stories. It was obvious that Craig really enjoyed her being there. Lisa, on the other hand, didn’t look like she was having nearly as much fun. Maybe she was sad that this was her last appearance with Craig, or maybe she had other things on her mind. Dunno. But, either way, her lack of energy brought the mood of the interview down a bit for me.
Dominic Monaghan was the second couch guest. As far as I can tell, he’s not in anything currently, and he didn’t promote any upcoming events, so I guess he’s not doing much at the moment. The interview was good. Dominic was pleasant, sincere and shared some interesting tidbits. Unlike Lisa, Dominic took full advantage of his final time with Craig to create an genuinely enjoyable experience for everyone. Here’s the interview:
The closing segment was uneventful.
Decent show. I give it:
– Woody
I’m pretty sure we’ve seen Bob Oshack on camera 4 times, including this episode.
No, wait, it’s 5. He actually got to do a guest comedian 5 minutes one time.
5 times, once with this family.
