Conan Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Conan:

A research lab at the University of Texas just found out it is missing one hundred human brains. Texas police don’t know who has the brains, but they’ve already ruled out Governor Rick Perry.

A surgeon in California accidentally removed a prison inmate’s wrong kidney. Either that, or a kidney just pulled off the most amazing prison escape in history.

In Britain it is now illegal to view to bondage porn. And if you’re caught, you’ll be led away with no handcuffs.

The comedy segment bits were “Conan’s Clip Art Collection” and “Conan’s Sweater Gets Stolen.” The kindest thing I can say without lying is that they were both mildly entertaining.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was the first couch guest. He was one of the stars of the recent film Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. The interview was fine. Joseph was friendly, goofy and shared some interesting stories. The first-half of the interview was nothing to write home about, but the second half was decent enough:

Billy Eichner was the second couch guest. He stars on the web series Billy on the Street. The interview was disappointing, unfortunately. I’m a big Eichner fan; I think his charisma is off the charts and I love his comedy. That said, I don’t know a lot about the guy, so I would have appreciated actually learning some stuff about him instead of non-stop pre-written material. Basically, for me, this appearance was a kind of a wasted opportunity. Of course, having just said that, I will recommend watching the last four minutes of the interview:

The Decemberists was the musical guest. I enjoyed their performance:

Reasonably enjoyable show. I give it:
