Late Show Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Show with David Letterman:
It’s prom season. Anybody ever go to the prom? It was exciting for me. I mean, if you think about it, you’re a sixteen or seventeen year old kid, you got a date you’re taking to the prom, and I’m telling you: corsage, tiara, strapless gown…I looked terrific.
Everyone’s talking about the “wheel well kid.” A kid gets on a plane in San Jose, California and flies all the way to Hawaii riding the landing gear. The airline’s embarrassed, so they say next time he wants to fly they’ll upgrade him to the baggage compartment.
There is only one thing worse than flying in the wheel well of a commercial airliner, and that’s flying in that middle wheel well.
The comedy segment bit was “Top Ten Al Qaeda Ranch Names.” It was ok, but not worth your time.
Sally Field was the first couch guest. She is in the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The interview was good. Sally was kind, fierce at times and shared some interesting stories. Letterman really admires Sally, and flattered her like few other guests I’ve ever seen on his show. It was a little weird, to be honest. The entire interview is worth watching, but it hasn’t been posted yet. Until then, here’s most of it:
Timothy Simons was the second couch guest. He is on the show Veep. The interview was also good. Timothy was friendly, easygoing and told amusing stories. I liked Timothy, I thought he did well. Letterman also did a nice job regarding the topics of conversation and pacing. Here’s the first half of the interview:
Needtobreathe was the musical guest. They gave a great performance:
Fine show. I give it:
