Conan Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Conan:
Today is a day that happens once a century. It is 12-12-12. It’s not only the date, it’s also the results of the Kardashian sisters’ IQ tests.
Last night the Spice Girls musical debuted in London. So it turns out the Mayans were off by just a few weeks.
Speaking of the Mayan apocalypse, a top Vatican scientist has officially announced that, despite the Mayan calendar, the world will not end on December 21st. Yeah, the Vatican scientist then went back to his regular work, proving tornadoes are caused by gay people.
According the census bureau, white people will not be the majority in the United States by the year 2043. Yeah, so this is even more bad news for the National Hockey League.
The comedy segment was about the new Pizza Hut perfume. It was reasonably enjoyable:
Michael C Hall was the first couch guest. He stars on the show Dexter. The interview was fine, but not very exciting. Conan and Michael didn’t really get a flow going. Some of this is probably due to Conan being sick, but some of it has to be due to Michael trying and failing to be funny and interesting. Here’s the first part of the interview:
Charlyne Yi was the second couch guest. She is the upcoming film This is 40. The interview was ok. This is my third time watching an interview with Charlyne on a late-night talk show. Each time I find her both entertaining and annoying. I’m sure she’s a nice and intelligent person, but what I typically see is an irritating personality. Still, she had an amusing story in the second-half of the interview:
Tommy Johnagin was the stand-up guest. I enjoyed his comedy. He had one or two misses, but the rest were pretty solid:
Good show. Conan gets extra points for working with a cold. I give it:
