Late Late Show Highlights
The cold open from last night’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was amusing enough to suggest watching:
Here were my favorite monologue jokes:
President Obama welcomed Mexico’s new president to the White House today. The newly-elected foreigner needed advice on his country’s crumbling infrastructure. I don’t know what the Mexican president wanted.
Tomorrow President Obama is having lunch with Mitt Romney. That’s good. It’s nice to see the President reaching out to the unemployed.
You know what today’s all about, the big Powerball. There’s 42 states that participate in the Powerball. Not in California, though, you can’t do it in California. We’ve got other ways of making a fortune. You can play the Lotto, you can play the Mega Millions, you could be the new kid on Two and a Half Men.
The chances of winning the Powerball, I looked up today, are 1 in 175 million. You have a better chance of hooking up with a Kardashian. [Pauses] You’ve actually got a much better chance.
The comedy segments were lighting the Late Late Show Christmas bush and tweetmail. There were some pretty entertaining moments worth checking out:
Lewis Black was the first couch guest. He’s a stand-up comedian, author and playwright. The interview was pretty good. Lewis was funny and told some interesting stories. He and Craig acted like they were having a really enjoyable time together. Here’s most of the interview:
Karen Gillan was the second couch guest. She is a model and actress. The interview was great. Karen was friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. I liked watching her laugh when Craig said something funny. Here’s the interview:
LP was the musical guest. Her performance was as pleasant this time as it was a few months ago on the Late Show.
No closing segment, unfortunately.
Very entertaining show. I give it:
