Conan Highlights
Conan is in Chicago this week. Monday night’s show was really good. Tuesday night’s show was pretty good. Let’s see what happened Wednesday night.
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night:
We’re at a very nice hotel here in Chicago. I went in to turn in last night and the maid left me a rack of ribs on my pillow.
Yesterday the Chicago Cubs fired their hitting coach. Isn’t that incredible: the Cubs had a hitting coach.
The Chicago Transit Authority has announced it’s going to sell tickets for the ‘L’ over Groupon. In a related story, the guy on the ‘L’ offering to show you his penis for a dollar is now accepting PayPal.
Things have changed a lot since the last time I was in this town. Today Oprah asked if me if I could spot her twenty bucks until the weekend.
The comedy segments were Conan visiting the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and serenading an audience member. The Abe Lincoln bit didn’t work for me; I just didn’t find it funny. The serenade, on the other hand, was very entertaining:
Johnny Galecki was the first couch guest. He is one of the stars of The Big Bang Theory. The interview was good. It was quick and not very deep, but Johnny did tell a couple of humorous stories. Here’s a clip:
Kids These Days was the musical guest. They were great.
Good show, with bonus points for being in Chicago. I give it:
