Tonight Show Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Newt Gingrich hinting he may withdraw from the race next week. He did not do well. He thought he’d win Delaware, but did not do well. You know how bad he did in Delaware? He was three points behind John Edwards.

Starting this week Whole Foods, the organic grocery people, say they will no longer carry fish considered unsustainable. However, they will continue to carry fish that is unaffordable.

The desk segment was Hidden Messages in Famous Logos. The segment had a lot of potential, but it mostly fell flat.

Adam Levine was the first couch guest. He is the front man for Maroon Five and is a coach on The Voice. The interview started out weak, but got better in the second-half. The problem wasn’t Adam, who I enjoyed when he was on Kimmel last year, I think the problem was Jay. Here was my favorite part of the segment:

Richard Engel was the second couch guest. He is the NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent. The interview was excellent. Richard discussed his recent trip to North Korea for most of the segment and it was fascinating. Granted, I could learn this information if I watched the news more, but I enjoy the conversational format much more than just being told what may or may not be important. Here’s the interview:

Ziggy Marley was the musical guest. He was good.

Fine show. I give it:

– Woody
