Tonight Show Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
A JetBlue flight from New York to Las Vegas was forced to make an emergency landing in Texas after the pilot flipped out on the plane. He was screaming, ranting that the plane was going to blow up. Passengers had to subdue him, wrestle him to the ground. I mean, how bad is airline travel when you gotta start putting pilots on the Do Not Fly list? One passenger said it was so crazy it was like a movie. When JetBlue heard that they charged the guy a five dollar entertainment fee.
Newt Gingrich today announced that he’s laying off a third of his campaign staff. Is that surprising? Hey, he laid off two-thirds of his wives.
Dick Cheney had a heart transplant on Saturday. He’s doing well. Believe me, that surgery was a big deal, cause this is Cheney’s first heart you know. In fact, right after he got the new heart he got a call from President Bush who asked if the Wizard could get him a brain.
Are you watching Dancing with the Stars? I guess there’s a scandal. One of the stars, William Levy, admitted there are nude photos of him on the internet, which were taken when he was an unknown. So I guess they must have been taken sometime last week.
The Situation from Jersey Shore has checked into rehab. There’s a shock. It’s always sad to see talented young people succumb to substance abuse. But this is sad too.
The desk segment was What’s Appening. It was ok, but I don’t think it’s worth spending time watching.
Rainn Wilson was the first couch guest. He is one of the stars on The Office. I like Rainn; he’s a nice guy and a talented actor. The issue I had with the interview, however, was I didn’t find his personal material very funny. Rainn told a few stories, and he tried to make them more entertaining with humor, but to me the attempts fell flat. Here’s the first half of the interview. See what you think:
Debbie Gibson was the second couch guest. She is one of the contestants on this season’s Celebrity Apprentice. The interview was fine. I’d actually go as far to say that it was more interesting than the segment with Rainn. Debbie’s stories were interesting enough, especially the one about being in a made-for-tv-movie called Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. Here’s the first half of the interview:
Gavin DeGraw was the musical guest. He was ok.
Decent show. I give it:
