Late Night Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:
A ninety-nine year-old man is filing for divorce from his ninety-six year-old wife, making them the world’s oldest divorce couple. It’s gotta be weird when a divorce lawyer is fighting for your kids to get custody of you.
A man in Maryland says the flashlight app on his iPhone helped save his life after he got lost during a hike. And if you think that’s cool, this morning the Angry Birds app on my iPhone helped save me from three awkward conversations in the elevator.
A woman in Sweden found her wedding ring on a carrot in her garden sixteen years after she lost it. She was pretty happy until her husband said, “Honey, there’s something the carrot and I have to tell you.”
The desk segment was Mitt Romney’s Press conference and Sing It Like You Mean It. Wow, I never would have thought it, but it’s totally worth watching SILYMT:
Ed Burns was the first couch guest. He directed, wrote and stars in the new film Newlyweds. It interview was good. He told a funny story and then discussed how he made Newlyweds for nine thousand dollars. It was fascinating. Here’s the interview:
Afterwards they played Football Bowling. It’s harder than it sounds:
Alexa Chung was the second couch guests. She’s a designer, model and host of the new show 24 Hour Catwalk. The interview was fine. Alexa was funny and “charming.” Initially, after watching it the segment the first time, I wasn’t going to recommend it. I decided to give it a second viewing, however, and changed my mind. Here’s a clip:
Chef Geoffrey Zakarian was the cooking guest. He recently became the newest Iron Chef. I’m a huge fan of cooking segments, and I like Geoffrey a lot when he’s a judge on Chopped, but the segment wasn’t very entertaining.
Good show. I give it:
