Late Night Monologue Rehearsal
I spent most of today in New York City. You might be surprised to learn that it’s crowded.
Since I didn’t plan ahead, I didn’t have a ticket to see Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Since I didn’t feel like being at 30 Rock at six in the morning, I didn’t get a standby ticket. I did, however, have the honor of being part of the Jimmy’s monologue rehearsal audience.
Being a member of this elite group of fifty gave me the chance to sit in the studio audience, meet members of his writing staff and watch Jimmy run through three pages of potential monologue jokes. All of that happened in less than ten minutes. But it was a fun ten minutes. And, thanks in one-fiftieth part to me, Jimmy will have a great monologue on tonight’s show.
You’re welcome Jimmy.
