Late Late Show Highlights
This week the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson is broadcasting the shows it did in Paris earlier in the year. It’s a pretty unique event, so I’m going to post all the clips from last night’s show so you can watch the whole thing. If you’re low on time or only want to watch the best segments you can read my comment before each clip and decide if it’s worth watching.
The pre-opening credit segment takes place in the show’s studio. It’s entertaining and goofy, but you won’t miss anything if you skip it:
There wasn’t a monologue, but Craig sang, there was a funny sketch, Kristen Bell stuck her tongue out and the Eiffel Tower was in the background. So, all in all, it was pretty entertaining:
The desk segment was easily the best part of the show. It starts with a quick Kristen Bell sketch, but after the first email Craig does emails with the owner of a bookstore. If you watch only one clip, watch this one:
This next segment is Craig at the Eiffel Tower. Kristen joins him as well. It’s pretty decent, but can be skipped if you’ve got better things to do:
Jacques Essebag was the first guest. He is known as Arthur on his late-night show in France, which apparently is a copycat of the Late Late Show. The segment takes place on a bus. It’s pretty good for what it is:
Jean Reno was the second guest. He is an actor and a true Frenchman. Craig, Jean and Kristen shared a meal and talked, mostly about sharks. The segment is interesting enough:
The closing segment takes place back at the studio. Skip it unless you really love it when Craig and Geoff interact:
The show had some strong and weak moments, but it deserves the high marks just for making the effort. I give it:
