Late Night Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:
President Obama will be in New York tomorrow night for a fundraiser at the Broadway musical Sister Act. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin will be in town to do some hunting at the Lion King.
A man was nearly arrested after being caught buying real grass instead of marijuana. Which means somewhere there’s a bunch of farm animals having the time of their lives.
This is amazing. A cat here in New York survived a fall from the fourteenth floor of an apartment building. It was immediately eaten by a rat, but still, what a story.
A large pig was found wandering the streets of New York this past Sunday. It was immediately eaten by a rat, but still, what a great story.
The desk segments were Hashtags and Late Night Audience Suggesting Box. Hashtags was really funny and should be watched:
Elijah Wood was the first couch guest. He stars in the new television show Wilfred. I really enjoyed the interview. Elijah was energetic, funny and told some interesting stories. He and Jimmy are fun to watch together. It’s an interview, but they chat more like old friends who are just sitting around catching up. Here’s the majority of the segment:
Michael Rapaport was the second couch guest. He has directed a documentary on A Tribe Called Quest. The interview was really good, primarily because Michael spoke with great passion about music and the documentary. I can’t explain it, but there is something about Michael’s voice that I’m really drawn to. He just starts talking and I can’t help but focus on what he’s saying. Here’s the interview:
Thurston Moore was the musical guest. He was ok. I think harpist really took away from the song though.
Good show. I give it:
