It’s The Final Countdown
Around May of last year Paul and I decided that it was time for us to move on from Woody After Hours. While WAH has been fun, and we’re very proud of it, there are other comic projects we want to devote our limited time and energy towards while we still can. We agreed to do one more day in the WAH universe before signing off, and that day ended last Friday with Woody and Renee saying “I love you” to each other as they fell asleep.
I like a certain amount of closure in stories, though. I don’t want to just say “goodbye” and leave you wondering where these characters end up. So, as Woody states in today’s strip, Paul and I are going to spend the next few weeks showing you how the main cast makes out in the future. It should be reasonably entertaining and satisfying – which is the standard we’ve tried to meet with this comic since day one.

I’m sorry to see WAH go, but the fact that you both are planning other comic projects is good enough news for me.
Ha! And here I was thinking about getting a cameo. Oh well.
Man! First Girls with Slingshots, now WaH? =(
Exactamundo. Geez, I just finished my archive binge here about two weeks ago.
Sorry to see WAH go. Hard to believe that in 6 years, we’ve only covered 2 1/2 weeks in comic time. Good luck with all your next projects!
It been 6 years?!!! Seems like it just started.
Dammit! First Girls With Slingshots, then Namir Deiter, now WAH! CONTINUE INDEFINITELY FOR MY ENTERTAINMENT, DAMMIT!
Damn, my webcomics bookmarks folder is just getting smaller this year. First Shortpacked!, then GWS, now WAH? After I JUST discovered it (thanks to David Willis)?! Well, it was a great comic and thanks for setting it here in North Carolina–it was cool to see places I actually know in a webcomic.

Dammit! I found WaH through DoA, read through every single strip, because I enjoyed it, finally getting though them all today, 16th of March.
What do I find?!
No more comics, starting today! Not once was this website ever updated, while I waited!
Still, I enjoyed it all, thank you for writing and drawing, Ben and Paul!
Awww, all my favorite comics are ending ! First TJ and Jamall, All New Issues, Namir Deiter, GWS, then Prince of Cats and now WAH ! Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with next (hopefully still an online comic?) but still sad I will miss the hijinks — but at least thank you for showing us the future, instead of just ending !
That makes me sad, I was hoping for an expansion as I have enjoyed the story lines. I hope we may get some extras between now and April 10th. Part of morning ritual was to check in on the site.
Sad to hear this! WAH was certainly one of the most unique webcomics out there: combining late night television with webcomics. Albeit I was only a fan for about 2 years, I recently re-read the comic and was reminded that it was really up there with the greats.
Best of luck with your future projects, fellas!
this deserves a Darth Vader’s “Noooooooooo”
Either that or a Captain Kirk-esque “BEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!”
Oh well, at least there’s still David Willis (“Dumbing of Age”) to keep us amused.
I felt there was a lot more scope in this world for other artists to draw a show etc. Really sorry to see it end.
I’m going to miss this comic. I have discovered so many other good comics just from WAH. Will you continue to review late night talk shows?
Probably not. I need to focus my energy on getting our next project off the ground. Plus, it’ll be emotionally hard for me to keep returning here without the comic updating.
Huh, just as i finally started getting into the groove of checking the updates, oh well loved it anyways.
It’s sad to see WAH go. Since the partnership with DoA, I’ve gone back through the archives and read the entire comic, enjoying both the evolving art style, as well as the humor as it went on. I enjoyed being able to learn about more and more web comics through the guests on the show, as well as the evolving stories within the comic itself.
Thank you for everything you’ve done Ben and Paul, I wish you all the best for your next project, and hope one day we’ll be able to see it
Damn shame this is going to be ending. I really enjoyed the format, and having other comic characters appearing as “guests” helped introduce me to several comics that I’ve enjoyed over the years. Really gonna miss that.
Damn, I’m sad that this comic is ending. But it’s been a great run, and I look forward to whatever you guys make next! Good luck
I will miss WAH. I thought it was a great Web Comic to read. Though I will miss WAH I hope your next project is even better.
I’ve been reading since nearly the very beginning. I was even featured when I met Paul at the Buffalo Comic Con. The one month I haven’t been able to read regularly, you announce the end! I’ll miss this comic and I’ll still never look at microwaved lettuce the same way again. Thank you for all the laughs.
I’m very sad I’ve been a loyal WAHer for a few years; and you guys had something really good I look forward to the next project
