Invisible Touch
Ruth, the Indiana University resident assistant in the terrific webcomic Dumbing of Age, is leaving us. This means, unfortunately, that David Willis is as well. Paul and I would like to thank David for collaborating with us on nine WAH strips. He was very generous with his time, feedback, patience, art and characters throughout the process. It was truly a thrill to work with him.
Thanks for hanging out with us for another week. Have a great weekend.

Chapter: Episode 13 - Wednesday
Characters: Woody
I really hope that Billie was watching that and that this is brought up in Dumbing of Age.
Same here.
Whats the in-story reason for Ruth travelling across the country from Indiana to Raleigh ?
The show’s bookers flew her out. I don’t think this is canon for DoA.
By the look of that last panel, she didn’t need the bookers. She flew herself in.
I hope it is canon. After all, the Slipshines are canon.
I think it is canon. in https://woodyafterhours.com/comic/distance-and-displacement/ it shows Dorothy saying Ruth is hundreds of miles away in North Carolina. :p
I wouldn’t count on a strip from the crossover to make it canon. Sure, there are other characters there, but that just means that at least a few of the DoA people exist in THIS universe, not that Woody exists in that one.
Is Ruth levitating?
She must go.
Her people need her.
Her people being Billie.
In bed!
We don’t see her feet or the ground, so yes.
I found you through this crossover, and I love your strip! Neato!
I found you via the DOA crossover and have read through the archives. This is a clever and well done comic and I am quite pleased I found it. It’s sad that some of the strips in past crossovers no longer exist. They seemed worth reading by the characters portrayed. I will bookmark this one and continue reading it, however. Keep up the good work.
Okay, that was cute. Consider yourself picking up another reader.
“No, I really do loathe them all. Bumbling little half-adults, the lot of them.”

Says the RA who, if my own college career was any indicator, is perhaps two years older than the rest of the DoA cast.
That doesn’t make her wrong, judging by my experience.
Ruth and Billie’s relationship is one of my favorites in all fiction
Hope I can keep saying that in two years as the DoA story progresses…
Tsunderestorm.
So yeah …. If Mary had any doubts about Ruth and Billie being a thing I think they just got dispelled.
Here from DOA! I actually live in Raleigh so I appreciate some of the jokes on a level only a local will get. Keep up the good work!
