Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers:

Last Night Barbara Walters named Amal Clooney the ‘Most Fascinating’ person of 2014. However nobody was in the room at the time, and Barbara fell back asleep.

Officials in South Dakota have pulled their new highway safety campaign, called ‘Don’t Jerk and Drive,’ citing poor word choice. Oh, I shouldn’t say they “pulled it” — they yanked it. No, wait, they rubbed it out. No. No. They masterbated it.

Lindsey Lohan is saying she wants to move to London permanently. It’s a perfect fit because she already drives on the wrong side of the road.

The comedy segment bits were “Fred Talks” and “Extreme Dog Shaming” They were both ok, but I think there are better clips in this episode to watch instead.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was the first couch guest. He’s a rapper, actor and entrepreneur. The interview was good. Curtis was engaging, honest and shared some interesting tidbits. I have to admit that I was more than a little surprised at how astute, soft-spoken, and receptive he was while talking to Seth. He’s more impressive than I’ve given him credit for in the past. Here’s the first half of the interview:

After a break Curtis did a PSA. It wasn’t flawless, but it was pretty decent:

Patricia Clarkson was the second couch guest. She’s currently on Broadway in The Elephant Man. The interview was entertaining. Patricia was fun, confident and told some amusing stories. She was, honestly, a total joy from the beginning of the segment all the way through to the end. You can tell a guest is comfortable on a late-night talk show when s/he laughs five times during their time on the couch. Patricia doubled that milestone. Here’s the interview:

James Bay was the musical guest. He did a really nice job:

Great show. I give it:
