Conan Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Conan:
The Republican Governor of Pennsylvania is under fire for Photoshopping black people into his campaign pictures. Yeah, the press became suspicious when the governor posted photos of him and his black friends at a Coldplay concert.
Now, he’s gonna be okay, but former baseball slugger Jose Canseco accidently shot himself in the hand. In a related story, I think we just figured out how to make baseball a little more exciting.
The comedy segment bit was “Petting Zoo Rescue.” It was not entertaining enough to spend your time on.
Jon Cryer was the first couch guest. He is one of the stars on the television show Two and a Half Men. The interview was good. Jon was amiable, had a great sense of humor and told some amusing stories. I wish Team Coco would make the entire interview available for me to post here. There’s a great segment in which Jon reads DM tweets he received from Andy that’s worth watching but currently unavailable. Until I can find that, here’s what we’ve got to work with:
Katharine McPhee was the second couch guest. She’s on the show Scorpion. The interview was uneventful. Katharine, while a fine human being, shared tidbits that were almost completely uninteresting. Despite attempts on both sides, there was just no chemistry between her and Conan. This quickly resulted, unfortunately, into a segment that was just dry as toast.
Bob Odenkirk was the performance guest. He read an excerpt from his new book A Load of Hooey:
Mediocre show. I give it:
