Late Night Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers:
Today, the director of the Secret Service, Julia Pierson, resigned. She remained in good spirits on her way out, and even politely held the door for some weird guy that was coming in.
Kendell Jenner and Justin Bieber were spotted having dinner together in Paris last night. Bieber had the linguine and Jenner had the shrimp.
Scientists in northern California and Oregon found that marijuana gardens are threatening the salmon population. Though I don’t see the problem really; everyone loves baked salmon.
The comedy segment bits were “Seth’s Story,” “This Week in Numbers” and “Amelia Earhart Visits Seth.” They all had funny moments, but none of them contained enough entertainment value to spend your time watching.
Neil Patrick Harris was the first couch guest. He’s in the new film Gone Girl. The interview was good. Neil was charming, easygoing and shared some interesting stories. I’m a huge NPH fan, so I enjoyed hearing about some of the many different things happening in his life. I thought Seth did a nice job covering as wide a range of topics as he could in the time he had. Here’s the interview:
Rita Wilson was the second couch guest. She’s an actress, producer and singer currently performing at Café Carlyle in NYC. The interview was fine. Rita was personable, outgoing and shared some amusing tidbits. While they discussed some of the highlights in Rita’s past and present, one area they made no mention of is that fact that she’s married to Tom Hanks. I would have thought that little nugget would have at least gotten a second or two of recognition. Guest not. Here’s the interview:
The Both was the musical guest. They gave an ok performance.
Decent show. I give it:
