Tonight Show Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Over 250 million people watched the Olympics here on NBC. Give ya how big that is: that is 250 million more people than usually watch NBC.

Wasn’t it thrilling when the US Women’s Team took home the gold in gymnastics? Think about that: a group of American teenagers getting a higher score than a bunch of Chinese kids. That never happens.

Congratulations to Mexico, they upset Brazil to win a gold medal in Men’s Soccer. After the Olympics ended the Mexican Soccer Team returned home to their houses here in Los Angeles.

The comedy segment was Headlines. It was entertaining enough to recommend:

Michelle Obama was the first couch guest. She is the First Lady of the United States. The interview was pretty good. The topics were light and the questions were softballs, but overall there was a nice mix of interesting stories and comedy. Plus Michelle was, as usual, pretty cool. Here’s the interview:

Gabby Douglas was the second couch guest. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Women’s Gymnastics. The interview was great. Gabby was pleasant, funny and did a nice job answering questions. She held her own very well considering she’s just 16, fresh off a plane from the Olympics and was seated between the First Lady and Leno. Here’s the interview:

Norah Jones was the musical guest. She was fine.

Very good show. I give it:
