Late Night Highlights
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to watch Late Night from the UNC Chapel Hill campus with guest President Obama. So, instead of reviewing a Monday night show, here were my favorite monologue jokes from tonight’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:
I am so excited. This is unbelievable. Tonight on the show we have the President of the United States Barack Obama. Unfortunately though, a lot of people weren’t able to get tickets, and that includes students, professors, Joe Biden.
I see that graduation here at UNC Chapel Hill is nineteen days away. So it might be time to pick a major.
Even though the president just got here today I’ve actually been here for two days. And I’ve been having the best time hanging out with the Secret Service. They know how to party.
President Obama said that even though he’s at UNC he’s not going to pander to the students and just tell them what they want to hear. Although I thought it was a little weird when they changed his slogan from “Yes we can” to “Duke sucks.”
The desk segment was Slow Jamming the News. This is always a funny and creative segment, but adding Obama put it over the top. The fact that he was willing to be a part of it just blew me away:
Barack Obama was the only couch guest. He is the 44th President of the United States of America. What can I say, other than the interview was terrific. Obama is a great speaker, but he’s also very intelligent and charismatic. The guy has a real talent for being able to discuss serious topics and making fun small talk without missing a beat. The interview is long, but it’s worth watching:
Dave Matthews was the musical guest. He was pretty good.
A solid show from the modified opening credits to the crowd’s enthusiasm at the end when Jimmy ran up and down the audience section. I give it:
