Late Late Show Highlights
The cold open from last night’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was ok, but I think we can skip it this time.
Here were my favorite monologue jokes:
We are on a little bit later tonight because of the college basketball. It’s great; I love when the college basketball is on CBS because usually the only orange balls on CBS are David Caruso’s.
Did you hear what Mitt Romney’s wife said over the weekend? Ann Romney was asked about her husband’s stiffness. She said, and I quote, “I guess we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out.” When she said that thing about unzipping him she was immediately endorsed by Bill Clinton.
Do I seem a little woozy? I am a little woozy. You know why, I’m a bit jet lagged. Do you know where I was last week? Scotland. I went to the town of Cumbernauld, the town where I grew up. And I went to my old neighborhood where I got my ass kicked every day. And this time I only got my ass kicked once. But it’s always nice to see my auntie Betty.
When I was in Cumbernauld I went to my old high school. And just being there it gave me the chills. It might just have had something to do with the weather that day, it was very cold.
The desk segment was tweetmail, but he spent most of the time making fun of the English. There were some entertaining moments:
Julie Chen was the first couch guest. She is the host of the afternoon show The Talk. The interview was pretty good. Julie was charismatic and funny. She did a nice job keeping pace with Craig, which can be tough to do. Here’s the interview:
Pau Gasol was the second couch guest. He plays for the LA Lakers. The interview was also pretty good. Pau was a cool guy who, despite being seven feet tall, was very down to earth. The interview is worth watching:
The closing segment was super quick.
Good show. I give it:
