Late Show Highlights
Every once in a while the Late Show with David Letterman does a cold open. The one from last night was pretty decent:
Here were my favorite monologue jokes:
Mitt Romney in his acceptance speech last night, his big winning speech in Michigan, was very elegant. He said, “And now it’s on to Super Tuesday!” Newt Gingrich, who apparently on paper is still in the race, in his concession speech said, “And now it’s on to Dancing with the Stars!”
Rick Santorum thinks global warming is a hoax. Oh yeah, Rick? Lemme ask you something Rick. If you think climate change is a hoax how do you explain those sleeveless sweaters?
The desk segments were a phone call from the late LBJ, the Top Ten Frequently Asked Questions About Leap Year and another segment of How It’s Made, The call from LBJ wasn’t very entertaining, but the other two were:
Neil Patrick Harris was the first couch guest. He is one of the stars of the show How I Met Your Mother. The interview was fine. Neil wasn’t there to promote much, other than a quick moment to mention HIMYM, so they spent the rest of the time talking about his children’s first trip to Las Vegas. I’m a big NPH fan and really enjoy everything he’s in, but unless you like stories of children almost getting in trouble for gambling in a casino I don’t think this interview is worth recommending.
Taylor Kitsch was the second couch guest. He stars in the upcoming film John Carter. The interview was pretty good. Taylor was nice, funny and told some interesting stories. Here’s a clip:
Robert Glasper Experiment featuring Lupe Fiasco and Bilal was the musical guest. There were fine.
Good show. I give it:
