Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!:
We really don’t know what to do when it rains in LA. When it rains we drive like Gary Busey talks. It’s a mess. And we are totally unprepared. People were ordering Mai Tais at lunch today just to get the little umbrellas.
Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid were the first couch guests. They are the judges on the show X-Factor. I’m neither a fan of any of these people, nor the shows they’re on or have been on, but, to be honest, the interview was terrific. I expected the four of them to criticize each other, which they did, and for it to be entertaining, which it was. But what I didn’t expect was for Jimmy to jump on top of them and criticize them so harshly as well, which he did, and for it to be equally as entertaining, which it most definitely was. The interview was unique, and therefore worth watching.
Anna Faris was the second couch guest. She is in the new movie Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked. The interview was fine. Anna was funny and told some interesting stories. Her interview was just so mellow compared to the segment that preceded it that the show felt like it dropped from fifth gear to first. That’s not anyone’s fault, I’m just pointing it out.
The Kooks was the musical guest. They were good.
