Late Night Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:
Welcome to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which I’m proud to announce has maintained its AAA Talk Show rating.
About 45 thousand Verizon employees are on strike after failing to reach a new contract. Things are so bad the S&P downgraded them from Verizon to AT&T.
Verizon is expecting service problems this week because of the strike. Today the lady on my voicemail was like, “You have three new messages. Get ‘em yourself.”
A 15-year-old girl just won the Microsoft Excel World Championship. Microsoft was like, “Word!”
The desk segments were Celebrity Whispers and Wax On/Wax Off. Holy crap Wax On/Was Off was absolutely and completely hilarious. It’s long, but worth watching:
Rudy Giuliani was the first couch guest. He’s is the former mayor of New York. The interview was fine, not great, not bad, just fine. I got the impression during the whole thing that Rudy was going through the motions talking about the same old stuff that everyone asks him. And there are only so many times you can listen to him go on about his days prosecuting the mob, handling 9/11 and whether or not he’s running for president. I guess I would have enjoyed it more if Fallon had asked Rudy questions that were more out of the box.
Adam Ferrara was the second couch guest. He is on the shows Rescue Me and Top Gear. The interview was very entertaining. Adam was funny and told some interesting stories. It’s too bad the segment was short. It would have been fun to watch more of his routine. Here’s most of the interview.
My Chemical Romance was the musical guest. They were really good.
Great show. I give it:
