Late Night Highlights
Suuuuuuper late. Sorry about that. Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:
Today President Obama met with the Yankees to congratulate them on their World Series win. Derek Jeter said, “You never get tired of meeting the President.” And then John McCain said, “Meh, I’m pretty much over it.”
A ninety-four year-old woman in California is going to graduate from Mills College this year. When they asked what she was doing next she replied, “Probably move back in with the ‘rents.”
Sony is expected to stop manufacturing its 3.5 inch floppy disk next year, which is pretty good timing since consumers are expected to stop using them in 1997.
CNN anchors Kyra Phillips and John Roberts got engaged in West Virginia over the weekend. So if you’re anywhere near their honeymoon suite, don’t be surprised if you hear the words, “This just in.”
The first desk segment was an ode to the Hubble telescope. It was decently funny:
The second desk segment was the return of Letters Home. They do this one a lot. It has yet to make me laugh.
Kathie Lee Gifford was the first couch guest. She is one of the hosts of the Today show. She spent the first half of the interview talking about her love for Fallon. The second half of the interview was better because she discussed her new children’s book, and it sounded like a good read.
Brian Posehn was the second couch guest. He’s an actor and stand-up comedian. He was funny, and I would have liked for his interview to have been a lot longer. Here’s a clip:
Gogol Bordello was the musical guest. I wish I had a clip of their performance to show you. They were really entertaining.
A fine show. I give it:
