Late Show Highlights

It’s been a while since I reviewed the Late Show with David Letterman. Let’s check in and see how he is doing. Here were my favorite monologue jokes and bits:

Cold here in New York City, huh? It’s like winter time. Cold weather doesn’t bother me and I’ll tell you why. You know why? Because in my pants, right now, I gotta couple of Zu Zu pets.

I looked this up; in the history of Presidents of the United States only two have won Nobel prizes while they were in office. The first one of course, Woodrow Wilson, because he is the man they credit for ending World War One. Second, Theodor Roosevelt, for, what, what, yes, he invented the teddy bear.

Did you hear about this? Today Tiger Woods was arrested for trying to steal back his sports memorabilia.

Here’s a guy who had, like, a billion dollars worth of endorsements, and today Gatorade says, “Well, we’re no longer going to be marketing our Tiger Woods energy drink.” And I was thinking this may be a mistake. I’m no marketing genus, but this may be a mistake. Because, if this guy was even half as busy as they say he was…that may be the guy you want selling your energy drink.

And then there was this:

The desk segment included the Top Ten Signs The Nobel Peace Prize Has Gone to President Obama’s Head:

Maryjean Ballner was the first couch guest. Maryjean is a “pioneer in the art of pet massage.” She brought a cat with her and taught Letterman the dos and don’ts of massaging it. Dave made the interview really funny by cracking jokes every time Maryjean tried to tell him something. This clip is a perfect example of what I’m talking about:

Rachel Weisz was the second couch guest. I really like Rachel, not for The Mummy as much as for her work in The Brothers Bloom, which I think is a really great movie. The interview was good. Here’s a clip:

Rob Thomas as the musical guest. His performance was really enjoyable.

Good show. I give it:
