Tonight Show Highlights
The Late Show is in reruns this week, and Late Night has Charlize Theron, who I reviewed on Tuesday. So we’re back for another Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Here were my favorite monologue jokes and bits from last night’s show:
Yesterday, apparently, Kayne West called Taylor Swift to personally apologize after he saw her on The View. Which confirms the old stereotype: rappers love The View.
Whitney Houston is having a big comeback right now, which is very nice. In a new interview, which she just gave, Whitney Houston says that left Bobby Brown by telling him that she was going out to run an errand, and then never went back. When he heard this Brown was upset and said, “Wait a minute. So she’s not at the cocaine store?”
And one of my favorite bits returned:
The desk segment was a behind-the-scenes look of Andy Ritcher’s appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy, which airs today. It’s ok. I was going to post it, but honestly, if you only have a limited amount of time you should spend it watching as many of the guest interview clips as you can instead.
Aaron Eckhart was the first couch guest. Up to this point my only familiarity with Aaron was as an actor in The Dark Knight. It turns out that he’s a pretty cool person as well. The interview was really good. Aaron just oozes charisma, which makes him a lot of fun to watch. Check it out:
Michael Strahan was the second couch guest. Michael is a former New York Giants player and now stars in a new comedy on Fox called Brothers. I had never heard of this guy before, but it turns out he’s pretty respectable. I enjoyed this interview almost as much as Aaron’s:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs was the musical guest. They were indie-licious. I don’t know what the means, but the performance was fine.
A good show. I give it:
