Late Night Highlights
Anyone see Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night? There was nothing worth noting in the monologue, or the first desk segment. The second segment, however, was when the show really took off. Freestylin’ with the Roots was great. The Roots are really terrific. I wish I had a clip of it to embed.
Seth Myers was Fallon’s first guest. I like Seth a bunch. He just seems like a great guy. It’s probably the smile. Seth and Jimmy are old friends from SNL and reminisced about doing the Weekend Update segment. Here’s the bit where Seth shows a bombed joke clip from an SNL dress rehearsal:
Fallon then brought out Seth’s brother, Josh Myers. It was pretty funny. I bet growing up in that house was one hysterical adventure after another.
Michelle Trachtenberg was Fallon’s next guest. She spent a few years on one of my favorite shows of all time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She was pleasant and seems to be doing quite well. Good for her.
The final guest was BMX rider Mike Spinner. Mike did some cool tricks, and then got Jimmy involved:
I really like the fact that Jimmy is willing to try new things and embarrass himself for entertainment. He’s my kinda guy.
Overall it was a very good show. I give it an A.
