Tonight Show Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
President Obama said this week that after four years as president you realize all the mistakes you’ve made. So apparently he does watch Fox News.
The Pope delivered his last Sunday blessing before resigning. He said he’ll spend the remainder of his life praying in seclusion. Sounds like he’s a Lakers fan too.
Here’s the interesting part, though, even though the Pope said he’ll spend the remainder of his life in seclusion, he’ll still be seen by more people than watch NBC primetime.
For the first time ever NBC finished fifth in the ratings. Do you realize if we were a racehorse in England we’d be a Whopper by now?
The comedy segment was Copy Cats. I’m a fan of clips of animals doing things, but this was just not entertaining enough to recommend.
David Duchovny was the first couch guest. He stars on the show Californication and is in the new film Phantom. The interview was fine. I like David and think he’s a good actor, but he was trying too hard to be funny for some reason and it didn’t really work. The audience agreed with me. Regardless, David was pleasant and told some interesting stories. Here’s the first-half of the interview:
J.B. Smoove was the second couch guest. He is an actor and stand-up comedy. The interview was great. J.B. was charismatic, funny and told some very amusing stories. I think part or maybe even most of the segment was just him doing bits from his stand-up routine, but it was enjoyable to watch nevertheless. Here’s the interview:
Father John Misty was the musical guest. He gave a really nice performance.
Good show. I give it:
