Watch Your Step
I don’t know about your cat, but ours loves to sit on our stairs, usually when we need to use them, and definitely when we’re carrying big items that block our ability to where we’re going. She has to be trying to murder us. There’s no other explanation as to why she would purposefully run ahead of us, as we’re either beginning to go up or down, and then stop and wait while taking up an entire stair. I’m starting to suspect that she has a very pricy life insurance policy out on both of us.

If not tripping you on the stairs, blocking your way in or out is another typical cat move….and possibly equally hazardous, depending on where you are.
YES; my roommates cats (who have adopted me as part of the family) will even rush to get out ahead of him while he’s walking and trip him up, right at the top of the stairs too. Crazy cats
