A Late-Game Substitution
We’ve seen these two before. We were introduced to Refrigerator Ninja when Isabel hired him to help Woody kick his diet soda habit. Business was so good that the DV network decided to develop a show about him doing what he loves.
Ben, the President of the Depth Varies corporation (which, naturally, includes the DV network), was first seen meeting with Renee in his office late one night. It’s exactly what it sounds like.

Wasn’t that ninja one of your ‘Instant Celebrity’ contributors? Is he paying you for each appearance, or do you have to pay him now?
Yup, Refrigerator Ninja started as a cameo for a dude named Abe. I enjoyed the character Paul and I had created so much that I’ve written him into more strips. No, Abe isn’t paying or getting paid for each appearance.
And I’m imagining the theme song being an adaptation of the MC Chris song that’s currently being used on Honda commercials.
