Tonight Show Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:

This weekend was the Conservative Political Action Conference, CPAC, which featured several speakers, including Sarah Palin and Phil Robertson from ‘Duck Dynasty.’ It was a good weekend for conservatives; it was a great weekend for wild animals.

During the conference Rand Paul told the crowd that it was time for a new president, and people need to help make the change. Of course, most people agreed with him since that’s how term limits work.

Yesterday Kanye West revealed on Twitter that his upcoming album will be named ‘So Help Me God.’ Or as Kanye calls it: ‘Self-Help.’

The comedy segment bit was “History of Duets.” It was entertaining enough to recommend:

Ryan Reynolds was the first couch guest. He stars in the upcoming film Woman in Gold. The interview was great. Ryan was terrific. I was blown away by how naturally funny he was. Many late-night guests, especially comedians, put a lot of effort into making the host and audience laugh as much as possible. Ryan didn’t have to try; the humor just came out smoothly and effortlessly, and it was wonderful. Here’s the interview:

After a break Jimmy and Ryan played my favorite Tonight Show game: Egg Russian Roulette. It didn’t disappoint:

Terrence Howard was the second couch guest. He stars on the television show Empire. The interview was fine. Terrence was regal, gracious and shared some amusing stories. I was a little off-put by his display of grandeur throughout the first half of the segment, but appreciated his willingness to relive his performance at the Oscars during the second half of the interview. Here’s what I’m talking about:

Kelly Clarkson was the musical guest. She gave a nice performance.

Very good show. I give it:
