Late Late Show Highlights

The cold open from last night’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was decent, but just not enjoyable enough to recommend.

Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

Yesterday was a great day for Payton Manning. Last night, in Denver, he threw his 509th touchdown pass. He has scored so much in Denver they made him an honorary pot dealer.

Payton’s brother, Eli Manning, called him to congratulate him, but, unfortunately, the call was intercepted.

Justin Bieber got in trouble for kicking a soccer ball in the corridors of the Vatican. I am also pretend-shocked everybody. You know you’re a jerk when even the Pope is like, “Dude, stop being a douche.”

The comedy segment bit was “Tweetmail”. It was so hilarious that I had to wipe tears from my eyes twice after laughing so hard:

Sarah Paulson was the first couch guest. She’s on the television show American Horror Story: Freak Show. The interview was terrific. Sarah was fearless, opinionated and had a great sense of humor. I loved how she smiled, laughed and flirted with Craig the entire time she was on. Near the end of the segment Craig called her “naughty,” which was not only wonderfully appropriate, but something she embraced with pride. Here’s the interview:

Jim Rash was the second couch guest. He voices a character on the show Mike Tyson Mysteries. The interview was good. Jeff was friendly, fun and shared some amusing tidbits. I’m not convinced that the whole interview is worth watching, but I did like this exchange enough to post it:

The closing segment was quick, but perfect if you watched the Sarah Paulson interview:

Very entertaining show. I give it:
