Tonight Show Highlights

It’s time to critique another Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Instead of Wednesday’s night’s episode, however, I’ve decided to review Tuesday night’s show in honor of their ability to get President Bush to be the guest.

Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

Getting ready for Thanksgiving? Right around the corner. As you know, the traditional Thanksgiving began in 1621 when Native Americans sat down with a bunch of undocumented Pilgrims.

Butterball is warning there could be a turkey shortage. They’re only shipping half the number of turkeys this year cause many of the birds had trouble gaining weight. They say it’s a real problem. They haven’t seen birds this weak and flimsy since the Atlanta Falcons.

Former President George W Bush is on the show tonight. As you know, he’s nicknamed “forty-three” because he was the forty-third president. President Obama is nicknamed “forty-four” because that’s how many people have signed up for Obamacare.

According to In Touch magazine, my bible, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are living apart. See, I don’t believe that. I don’t believe there’s any way he could leave her behind.

The comedy segment bit was “Jaywalk: Thanksgiving Trivia Challenge”. It was entertaining enough to recommend watching:

Former President George W Bush was the couch guest. He is the forty-third President of the United States. The interview was fine. Bush was relaxed, sincere and had a good sense of humor. Let’s not kid ourselves here, many of Leno’s questions were pretty superficial, and we didn’t learn anything new about Bush that would influence long-held opinions about the guy. Yet, for some reason I can’t explain, it was still nice to see him and reconnect a little bit. Around the halfway point former First Lady Laura Bush joined the conversation. I think the interview improved quite a bit with her there. Leno’s questions were a little deeper and more interesting, and the answers were longer and more personal. Here’s the interview:

Ben Harper and Charlie Mussel White were the musical guests. They were terrific. I can’t find a video of their performance, which is too bad because I really enjoyed it.

Great show. I give it:
