Late Late Show Highlights

The cold open from last night’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was entertaining enough to recommend watching. Unfortunately, no one has posted it online yet.

Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

Did you hear that before I came out? The warm-up guy said, “We’re gonna make TV history.” The audience is like, “Yay!” and I’m like, “That’s not what we’re doing here.” This is not like the moon landing. This is really happening.

Our government is officially out of money at midnight tonight. If the government shuts down the national parks and the museums are closed. National parks? That’s madness. Where will all the bears go? West Hollywood…San Francisco.

Last night 10.3 million people watched the series finale of Breaking Bad. That’s a lot of people. To give you an idea of how many that is, take the amount of people that watch this show and add 10.3 million.

I haven’t watched the Breaking Bad yet. I was doing stand-up in Las Vegas. Why watch meth addicts on TV when you perform before an entire audience of them?

The comedy segment was Tweetmail. It was its usual goofiness, but not worthy of spending your time on.

Simon Helberg was the only couch guest. He is on the show The Big Bang Theory. The interview was fine. Simon was friendly, but seemed nervous or uncomfortable for some reason. He just couldn’t seem to sit still and was very fidgety, which was distracting. However, he did have some amusing stories. I especially enjoyed the story after the break in which he talks about getting engaged to his wife. Here’s the interview:

The Naked and Famous was the musical guest. They were great.

There was no closing segment.

An average show. I give it:
