Conan Highlights
Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Conan:
Pope Francis said it’s a sin for people to waste food. Then he made Chris Christi a saint.
It’s been reported that Kanye West will not be in the delivery room when Kim Kardashian has her baby. Now, before anyone gets mad, this was at the request of the baby.
In Los Angeles a porn star was sent to jail for pretending to his co-stars that he didn’t have an STD. He’s also been banned from the porn industry for being a convincing actor.
The comedy segment was Fan Corrections. The only way to raise the bar on this already awesome series of bits is to add George Takei, so that’s what they did:
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were the first couch guests. They star in the new film The Internship. The interview was fine. Vince and Owen were pleasant, mellow and told some amusing stories. I usually associate these two with being loud and energetic, so I was surprised at how low the energy level was during this segment. Regardless, Owen has so much charisma that he lights up any room he’s in no matter how low-key he is. Here was my favorite part of the the interview.
Conan, Andy, Vince and Owen also played a round of cornhole. It was kinda boring, so I’ll skip to the end and reveal that Conan and Andy won. More importantly, I think this is the first time I’ve seen Conan play a game with guests since he moved to TBS. I wonder if his show is taking queues from the success Fallon has had playing games on Late Night.
Maria Menounos was the second couch guest. She is co-host of the show Extra. The interview was good. Maria was fun, outgoing and told some interesting stories. I enjoyed learning a little bit about her. Here’s part of the interview:
