Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

I want to welcome you all to the jungle. We were supposed to have fun and games, but I accidently left Scattergories in my car. We have a very special guest on the show tonight: Axl Rose. This, by the way, will be the first live television interview Axl has done in twenty years. Or, I should say, it will be the first interview he’s done in twenty years if he shows up. He’s not here yet.

The First Lady will be a guest on our show tomorrow. She’ll be here to encourage people to vote, and also to promote her new reality show America’s Next Top Lady.

Axl Rose was the first couch guest. He is the lead singer of Guns N’ Roses. The interview was interesting, not so much for the substance as for just the fact that Axl was there. Axl was mellow and reserved in the beginning, but opened up and became a tad more lively as the segment went on. Regardless of whether or not Axl is a rock hero or humongous ass, I appreciate him for being willing to do the interview. I also commend Kimmel on getting Axl on his show. That’s a feather in his hat for sure. I didn’t know what to expect, and Jimmy admitted he didn’t either, but overall it was pretty cool and went well. Here’s the interview:

Ana Gasteyer was the second couch guest. She’s on the show Suburgatory. The interview was very good. Ana was pleasant, funny and told some entertaining stories. She seems like a genuinely joyful person who was happy to be on the show. Here’s the interview:

The Whigs was the musical guest. They were fine.

Great show. I give it:
