Jimmy Kimmel Live! Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

A beloved annual tradition took place in our nation’s capital today. This morning thirty thousand kids and their parents participated in the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. They did things a little bit differently this year. Normally they put a lot of eggs out. This year they had all the kids go after one egg, and armed them with sticks. Some sort of a Hunger Games tie-in.

It looked like a fun event. The only problem was first lady Michelle Obama was put in charge of the snacks. That’s like putting Rick Santorum in charge of a rave. You don’t do it. Instead of jelly beans the kids got actual beans.

All the kids under thirteen, they gave each one of them a wooden egg as a souvenir. I’m sure they were thrilled. Why eat an egg made of chocolate when you can look at an egg made of wood for years?

Tonight on Dancing with the Stars it was what they called rock week. Each member of the studio audience was given a rock to throw at the dancer of their choice.

LL Cool J was the first couch guest. He is on the show NCIS: Los Angeles. The interview was pretty good. LL Cool J was honest, nice, down to earth (one might argue that he looked like he had recently been smoking mother nature) and told some amusing stories. The interview has some weak moments, but it has quite a few strong moments that more than make up for them. If you have the time it’s worth checking out:

James Van Der Beek was the second couch guest. He is in the new show Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23. The interview was very enjoyable. James was very funny and told some entertaining stories. I honestly didn’t think this interview was going to be any good, but it proved me completely wrong. Here it is:

Josh Baze was the musical guest. He has a long way to go.

Good show. I give it:
