Late Show Highlights

David Letterman officially celebrated 30 years of late-night television with last night’s Late Show. Incredible. Simply incredible. The monologue focused almost exclusively on the milestone, and in true Letterman fashion he was as understating and self-deprecating as ever:

The desk segment was Top Ten Things Staffers Would Like To Say To Dave on His 30th Anniversary in Late Night. It was presented by longtime staff members. It was a lot of fun:

Howard Stern was the only couch guest. He’s a radio star and the newest judge on America’s Got Talent. The interview was entertaining. Letterman likes Stern a lot and has had him on as a guest many times over thirty years. He’s one of the few people I know of that Letterman allows to take over the segment and interrupt him in the middle of a sentence. Here are a couple of clips from the interview:

The Airborne Toxic Event was the musical guest. They were great.
