Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

Congratulations to Donald Trump who just welcomed his fourth grandchild. You could tell it was Trump’s grandchild because as soon as it came out it demanded to see its own birth certificate.

Researchers in the UK have developed a vegetable called “super broccoli,” designed to fight heart disease. Not to be outdone, researchers in America have developed a way to stuff an Oreo inside another Oreo.

A woman who worked for the Girl Scouts was arrested for stealing $300,000 to pay for plastic surgery. People knew something was up cause on Friday the woman had Thin Mints, then on Monday she came in with two giant Samoas.

The desk segments were a visit from Conan, Late Night Hashtags and Wheel of Game Shows. Amazingly, the Hashtags bit was the lamest:

Shaquille O’Neal was the first couch guest. He used to play NBA basketball. You may have heard of him. The interview was fine. I like Shaq and think he’s a great guest for late-night talk shows. He enjoys having a conversation without dominating it, and he doesn’t mind if the laughs come at his expense. Here’s a clip :

Jimmy and Shaquille then played some NBA Jam: On Fire. I have to admit, it was very enjoyable and even a little intense:

This wasn’t on the show, but I’m really glad they included it on-line for us to see:

Evan Rachel Wood was the second couch guest. She is in the new film The Ides Of March. The interview was good. Evan was fun, laughed a lot and told some good stories. I wish they would have posted the entire interview, so you could watch the end where she admits she likes Justin Bieber and then sings one of his songs. Instead, you’ll just have to live with how she lost a tooth on her birthday:

Portishead was the musical guest. They were ok.

Really great show. I give it:
