Late Show Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Show with David Letterman:

By the way you’re here on a great night. Everybody in the audience tonight gets a complete set of the Time-Life Mel Gibson tapes.

His rage today was so volcanic that they grounded flights in Europe.

Anybody here ever been to a Carl’s Jr? Carl’s Jr is now selling foot-long cheeseburgers. What about a couple of those to plug the hole in the Gulf of Mexico?

Foot-long cheeseburger. Rush Limbaugh calls it a Slider.

More bad news for Cleveland: turns out the Indians are staying.

Do you folks remember a guy named Levi Johnston? He’s marrying Bristol Palin. Bristol made the announcement on an hour-long ESPN special.

Last week Levi made a heartfelt apology to the Palin family. That kinda rings a bell.

The desk segment was Small Town News. It was pretty decent.

Shannon Eis was the first couch guest. She is from the World Toy Council. Each year she comes on the show and lets Dave play with some of the newest toys to hit the market. This segment is always awesome, and this year was no exception. This is totally worth watching. The first clip starts with the end of the desk segment, but don’t let that scare you off:

Joseph Gordon Levitt was the second couch guest. He is in the new film Inception. I don’t think I’ve seen him since 3rd Rock From The Sun. Glad to know he’s doing well. He was pretty cool and the interview was good. To be honest, however, my favorite part was when he took out the OGO Ball for a spin on the streets of New York. It was hilarious.

Laurie Anderson was the musical guest. Her music was different but pretty interesting.

Good show. I give it:
