Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

On Saturday President Obama had a thirty-minute phone call with the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, about the BP oil spill. The conversation is supposed to stay private, but, given that it’s BP, you can probably expect a few leaks.

In Afghanistan the U.S. has discovered large deposits of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and lithium. Or as most people would call it: not Osama Bin Laden.

In a interview on Fox News Sarah Palin denied the rumor that she got breast implants. Palin said not only are they real, they’re fair and balanced.

The desk segments included a song about Flag Day and an 80’s video about hobbies. They were both good, but I got a bigger kick out of the song:

Joy Behar was the first guest. She’s a co-host on the View, has her own show and does stand-up. She was pretty funny and the interview was good. Unfortunately there just really wasn’t a great moment worth posting here.

Carson Kressley was the second guest. He was on Queer Eye. Like Joy, he was a fun guest and the interview was good, but it’s not worth posting a clip.

Gail Simmons was the third couch guest. She’s a judge on Top Chef. She and Jimmy made crepes together. It was ok.

A fine show. I give it:
